Region Updates - Dec. 6

FINAL WEEK OF OUR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM!

Parents, Coaches, Volunteers, Players, this upcoming week marks the Season Finale week of our Skills Development Program. This is the first time our Region has ever put on a program like this. It took a tremendous amount of effort, resources, time, investment, sweat and tears to get us to this point. We truly hope all of you and all of your young soccer players had a fantastic time.

At the end of the season, we're going to ask all of you for feedback so we can find ways to improve our program but until then, please enjoy this week's final sessions. If you can, remind your young players to give their Coaches a socially distanced approved "high-five" and a "thank you" for all of their hard work. Our Coaches donate 100% of their free time to make this happen so any thanks from your players will mean a lot!

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING LATEST STATE MANDATES & CHANGES
There've been questions from many of you regarding how the latest updates and mandates from the State of California is going to affect this week's sessions. As of this moment, our Region has not received any information, emails, notes of any kind from either the City of Murrieta or from Warm Springs Middle School. That said, Region 1463 is moving forward with all sessions as planned.

If this changes in any way and we receive word from the City of Murrieta or the School District we'll be sure to contact all of you through email and our Social Media channels. We'll also ask our Coaches to get in direct contact with you as well. So the moment we have any type of update, rest assured you'll be informed.

Thanks again, Region 1463! Hope you're having a great Sunday and see you on the Pitch this week.

UPDATE 12/7/2020
Region 1463! We've received word this evening from our National Office that in order to promote and protect the physical and mental well-being of people in California, outdoor recreation facilities may continue to operate.

All AYSO Programs are allowed to continue as planned in accordance with the current CA Youth Sports Guidelines and our National AYSO Return to Play Guidelines

That said AYSO National, along with AYSO Region 1463, feels that it's important to remind everyone to continue to wear your facemasks and social distance as much as you can in order to help lower the risk. All of you have done an outstanding job working with us on our various Safety protocols. We ask that you continue to work with us during this final week of our Skills Development program.

Thanks again everyone. Enjoy your last couple of Sessions for the Fall!

Region Updates - Nov. 9

Skills Dev Information
AYSO 1463 | IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR WEEKDAY SESSIONS - ARRIVE EARLY!
We hope all of you had a relaxing Saturday with your families. Now it's back to AYSO 1463 Skills Development soccer starting with tomorrow's Tuesday session.

A reminder to all of our Tuesday and Thursday session groups. Our gate opens during the weekdays at 3:50pm. If at all possible please be sure to try and get to the fields as soon as the gate opens. Last week we had several players arrive at exactly 4:15pm. This not only caused a slight traffic jam at the Check-in gate but it also meant that a few of you arrived late to your training session.

With it becoming dark at about 5:15pm now-a-days every minute counts. So please try and your best to get to the fields a good 10-15 minutes before your start time to make sure your players get the most of their sessions.

Thanks everyone! See you tomorrow.

Region Updates - Nov. 6

THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING OUR BOARD & BREW EVENT!
Thank you to everyone who attended our Board & Brew Fundraising event on Wednesday. Your support at this event, and all other future fundraising events, will help our Region gain the funding it needs to help with eventual field improvements, much needed equipment and so much more. Thank you again, Region 1463!

RAIN IN THE FORECAST FOR SATURDAY?
As of today (Fri), the forecast is calling for rain starting later this evening and continuing on throughout Saturday. If this forecast holds up we will more than likely be forced to cancel our Saturday Session. This is a shame as we also have two brand new groups whose first session was set for tomorrow! Sorry brand new groups. If your first session ends up getting canceled we'll work on making it up to you somehow.

In the meantime, the Saturday Session is still considered ON until you receive a final notification from your Coach and/or the Region very early Saturday morning. We'll be sure to keep an eye on the situation.

REMINDERS ABOUT SAFETY PROCEDURES AT AYSO 1463
All of you have done an amazing job at keeping up and following our new Safety Procedures. We know this situation is not ideal, and in some ways difficult, but your continued cooperation helps our region stay open and, most importantly, stay safe.

As a reminder, it is vital that we continue to follow these guidelines and procedures as best as we can. With our county still in the purple tier, our Region needs to demonstrate to the city and the county that we are doing everything in our power to keep you and your families safe. Your continued cooperation will help ensure that we accomplish this goal.

In order to refresh yourself with our Safety Protocols, feel free to hit the banner directly above or the link below.

SOME IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL SAFETY REMINDERS:

(a) Masks are mandated

  • Coaches, volunteers and parents will be mandated to wear a mask at all times.
  • Players should wear masks coming and going, but will take them off for the duration of their session on the field.

(b)Social Distancing is required

  • Players water/bags should be spread out from each other.
  • Play/drills should be designed to focus on grid work or minimize close proximity and contact.
  • Parents, adults, siblings need to practice social distancing

(c) Limit shared contact surfaces

  • Coaches should set up and tear down their own equipment without assistance.
  • No sharing equipment including; balls, goalie gloves, jerseys, and water.

(d) Sanitize frequently

  • Coaches will be provided sanitizer, should encourage frequent use including but not limited to the start, middle and end of training sessions.
  • Sanitizer will be available at sanitizing stations and coaches can refill supply when needed.

(e) Control attendance numbers on the fields is important

  • Parents should stay in their vehicles during the weeknight sessions (8U and above).
  • Attendance on Saturdays should be limited to 2 adults max per player
  • Unfortunately, siblings will not be allowed on the field. We ask that you please make sure to make arrangements for any brothers and sisters. We MUST limit the number of people in attendance and we are limiting the number of children in attendance to player only.

(f) Canopies and EZ-UPS will not be allowed on the field during Saturday Sessions

  • You may bring chairs with you. Umbrellas for the shade are ok, too. However, EZs and canopies of any sort will not be let onto the fields.

Thanks everyone!

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - END OF SESSION PROCEDURES UPDATE

Region 1463 Parents & Guardians
Starting tomorrow, we are going to ask that parents come inside the gate to their players’ field to pick up their children during Weekday sessions.

As we're running out of daylight at 5pm, our Board is now asking Coaches to help tear down their fields in order to lighten our load and complete tear down before dark. That said, for the safety of the children they will be asked to stay on the field with their Coaches until their parents pick them up.  Please note that all parents who enter the field will be required to social distance and have a mask on.

As mentioned above, this change begins as soon as tomorrow.

Thank you for your help and cooperation on this matter. We appreciate it.

Thanks everyone!

Region Updates - Oct. 28

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - SAFETY RELATED UPDATE!

THANK YOU, REGION 1463
Once again Region, thank you again for doing a great job following our Safety Guidelines and Protocols at last night's first weekday session. We had a couple of gentlemen from the City of Murrieta stop by, review our fields and protocols and applaud us all on the fantastic work we're doing as a region. We know following these procedures aren't easy and definitely not enjoyable, but we need to be sure to stay the course so we stay in good standing with the City of Murrieta and MOST IMPORTANTLY keep our community safe.

On that note, an additional IMPORTANT reminder for all Parents, Players and Coaches! The City of Murrieta has reminded us that SOCIAL DISTANCING is incredibly important and required. That said, please remember that all up close interactions (i.e. high fives, hugging, standing closely together in group, etc.) is not following social distancing.

Please make sure to do us a favor to remind your young soccer players that for the time being, we need be sure to keep our distance from one another. This is important! Your help with this request will go a long way.

CONTEST ENDS TOMORROW! - DEADLINE: THURSDAY AT 6PM! SEND US YOUR ART!

We've received several entries so far!!! Thank you so much to those who've sent their art our way. Everyone else, you have until THURSDAY @ 6PM to send us your submission. To download the art, see our rules and take a look at the possible prizes, hit the banner above or the link directly below.

REGION UPDATES - AUG 20

SEASON UPDATE 2020 - LATEST NEWS!
Region 1463. We're excited to announce that our upcoming season is tentatively scheduled to start on Saturday, October 24th!

As mentioned in last week's update, competitive youth soccer is still not allowed due to current County guidelines. However, the latest guidelines DO allow players access to fields for youth soccer activities with restrictions in place.

With that in mind, our Board Members are feverishly working on a "Return to Play" program for this upcoming season that will provide our players with various AYSO National approved soccer activities, skill improvement drills, challenges and much more that will provide a fantastic opportunity to improve and develop their skills!

Once we've solidified our plans, we'll make sure to share them with you so you're fully aware of what to expect from AYSO 1463. The current ETA on when we'll be providing this information to you is around August 27th, so please bare with us just a little bit longer and we'll provide you more details soon! In the meantime, our wait list registration will remain open.

Note: Region 1463 will not be asking for payment until we provide this information to you first. It's important to us that you know what the season will entail beforehand.

We truly are very excited to get back out on the pitch! While we know this season will be a bit more unique than the usual ones of the past, we hope you and your young soccer players are itching to get out there and work on those soccer skills with us!

More info to come very soon! Thanks Region.

REGION UPDATES - AUG 6

SEASON UPDATE 2020 - LATEST NEWS!
Evening Region 1463! We have an update for you. As of a couple of days ago we received word from the City of Murrieta that California has released new guidelines regarding Youth Sports that have already gone into effect. These new guidelines allow players limited access to fields and activities with restrictions in place.

(1) The current guidelines allow for youth sports organizations like AYSO to allow outdoor activities as long as the activities are geared toward classes or camps with stable/set groups of children who will work together on a regular basis.

(2) In addition, social distancing guidelines are also to be adhered to.

(3) Note: Close contact play, such as a standard team vs. team soccer game, is currently not permitted.

Believe it or not, this is good news and a good first step in returning to the game of AYSO youth soccer! Please know that Region 1463 is absolutely dedicated to getting a season in place and we've been preparing for months in the event that we get the green light.

In the meantime, what does this mean for the upcoming season?
Internally, we're coming up with a few different "Return to Play" scenarios right now. With the current youth sports guidelines in place, it does provide our region a chance to be creative and come up with a possible alternative play season with new, exciting soccer activities and challenges.

Another scenario takes into consideration the possibility that regular competitive play will make a comeback. Either way, we have a few options to discuss internally. Please continue to be patient with us as we attempt to figure all of this out.

We expect to have a bit more of an update next week and the subsequent weeks after.

In the meantime, our Waitlist Registration will remain open for the foreseeable future. We will not be asking for payment until we have a solidified plan in place to share with you. More info to come soon.

Region Updates - July 30

SEASON UPDATE 2020
Region 1463! We know many of you are hoping to get word on the status of the upcoming season. Unfortunately, not a tremendous amount has changed in the last few weeks. Once this status begins to change, we will be the first to let you know.

We miss all of you at Region 1463 and absolutely want to get you and your young soccer players out on the pitch as soon as possible. Until then, we'll continue to keep an eye on the situation and keep preparing and pushing forward in preparation of receiving a thumbs up some time down the line.

In the meantime, if you haven't already be sure to register your child to our Core 2020 season wait list. The link and information can be found at the end of of this update below. Thanks for being patient, Region 1463! More info to come soon.

Region Updates - July 24

AN UPDATE FROM AYSO SECTION 1
Region 1463! Our Board Members are continuously working hard and moving forward with preparations for an upcoming core season.

Section 1, our Area and Region's AYSO home base, has taken a moment to remind us all that they have the same goal in mind -- to get our children back out on the pitch as soon as possible and when it's deemed safe to do.

For a bit of context, there was a brief segment on ABC Eyewitness News that AYSO's upcoming season was cancelled. For everyone out there, this is absolutely not the case.

From Section 1:

Section 1 has a widespread geographic footprint and the local realities of the Covid-19 spread and regulations vary from city to city, county to county and from state to state. Our foremost concern is the safety and well being of our players, coaches, referees and extended families. With that said, while there has been no official cancellation of the Fall 2020 AYSO Core season, we are all actively engaged in conversations at the local level with city and school officials, public health experts and our National Office and are accessing and determining those circumstances under which it would be appropriate to bring our children back to the pitch.

Our goal is to keep you constantly informed on the status of our return to play – whether that is a full season, an abbreviated season, or a season delayed – again, depending on what our assessments tell us. We understand that this may cause some uncertainty and we apologize for that, but it is our promise to keep you updated on a continual basis. Please check back here frequently for additional updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to socially distance and wear face coverings and most importantly, stay safe.

Region 1463. We'll provide more information on the upcoming season next week. In the meantime, if anyone has any questions always feel free to reach out to us.

UPDATES & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS RE: FALL 2020 SEASON
Our Region has received several questions regarding the current status of the Fall 2020 Season. We've tried and put together a brief FAQ that will hopefully help.

Q: Does our Region think we'll be having a season in the Fall?
A: Our Region is pushing forward and working hard preparing for the Fall. There's a tremendous amount of work to be done. That said, we can't be certain that a Fall Season will take place due to the latest updates from the State of California. As of yesterday, July 8th, a reminder notice was provided to all Youth Sports leagues that Team Sports are not permitted and will not be permitted until the State and the County provide the green light. However, our region is making sure to get everything as ready as possible so that the moment the green light is given, we can take action and get the season up and running.

Q: Is there some type of deadline to make a final decision on the Fall Season?
A: We are discussing this now to solidify a date but our Region will more than likely need to make a final decision by the end of the first week of September if we're going to have a season that ends by late November/early December. As we get closer to the date, we'll provide more information.

Q: What does it mean if we're on the "Waitlist" Registration?
A: Until further notice, everyone who registers their child is being placed on a "waitlist." As mentioned above, we're unsure whether or not the State of California & the County of Riverside will allow youth sports for the fall. Until we get clearer guidance, our Region will not be asking for Registration payments. Without payments, we are not able to place anyone on teams so until payments come in every player who's registered is on a waitlist until further notice.

Q: Why are spots limited?
A: Due to the ever evolving Covid-19 situation, our Region will be enacting several new "Return to Play" procedures and policies to ensure that our children and all of our Volunteers and Guests are safe at our Warm Springs fields. All of these new procedures (i.e sanitizing soccer balls, equipment, etc.) will take time in between and possibly even during games. That said, we'll need to make sure to keep our team numbers and the amount of people on the field at one time limited to help ensure everyone's safety. All of this is completely new to our volunteers, so for this season we simply need to limit the amount of people on our fields at one time in order to make sure we get a firm handle on our new procedures.

Q: If I've registered on the Waitlist does it ensure I have a spot?

A: Not exactly. The waitlist is there to help us gauge interest and to make preparations. Once registration payments are due, spots will provided to parents who have paid their registration fees. We will make sure to send out several reminders about registration payments through emails and social media, but due to how quickly our region will have to get everything up and running, it will need to come down to who takes care of their registration fees first.

Q: If Registration Payments determine whether we get a spot, when will the payment portal become open?
A: As of right now we're showing July 24th as the date our registration portal will be opening, but this will more than likely have to change as we will not have a clearer idea of the Youth Sports status until mid-August. Please keep "mid-August" in mind when it comes to payments. The moment we know we're about to open registration will make sure to let you know through email and social media platforms.

Q: (Spring 2020 Parents) When do use our Partial Coupon Codes? When does it expire?
A: Partial Coupon Codes shouldn't be used until we ask for payment. For now, there's no need to try and use the code. By the way, as a reminder the coupon code does not expire until June 2021 so you have an additional year to use it.

Q: (Spring 2020 Parents) If I never received my Partial Coupon Code what do I do?
A: Our Region has all of the Partial Coupon Codes handy. If you never received your coupon code through email, feel free to email us at [email protected] and we can provide it to you.

Q: Do you have Return to Play Policies and Procedures ready for us? (i.e. Will Children have to wear masks?)
A: Our Return to Play policies and procedures are not ready quite yet. We still have a few topics to figure out with the guidance of our National office, the State of California, CDC guidelines, the County of Riverside and the City of Murrieta. We expect to have information to share with you sometime in the next few weeks. We will ABSOLUTELY be sure to share this information with you BEFORE we ask for payments so you can understand our expectations and make an informed decision for you and your family.

Q: Will our older divisions (i.e. 14U, 16U) be travelling like they normally do?
A: For the Fall, the answer is no. Teams from all regions will need to play in their home regions only. What that means is that our Region may need to come up with some alternative division play styles for 14U and 16U. It's possible we make the divisions co-ed. It's possible we'll need to drop the numbers down to a 5v5 or 7v7 division. All of this is being discussed now. We will make sure to make a final decision of division related information BEFORE we ask for payments so you're fully informed.

PARTIAL CREDIT COUPON CODES - IMPORTANT UPDATE!
An important update on yesterday's note regarding the errors we discovered with the AYSO National Coupon Codes. The issue has now been FIXED and a new batch of corrected Partial Coupon Codes will be created. Note that all previously sent coupon codes have been voided.

National AYSO submitted the documentation for the new codes tonight (5/21) which means you should receive the corrected, NEW partial Coupons codes sometime in the next few days.

***IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL NOTE***
This note only applies to families who paid for the National Insurance Fee ($20) in Spring 2020. If you paid the fee in Fall 2019, this will not apply.

A few of you have noted that the previous Partial Coupon Code appeared to be missing $20. We've discussed this concern with National today and they have informed us that the $20 in question is for the National AYSO Insurance fee. We've been informed that if you paid for this fee in the Spring, you will not have to pay the National AYSO Insurance fee the next time you register your child (in either Fall 2020, Spring 2021, or Fall 2021).

Basically, if you paid for the $20 fee specifically in the Spring you will absolutely have an additional $20 credit but this particular credit is tied to your account and is not part of the Coupon code.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding, Region 1463! Be on the lookout for those new coupon codes.

Jaime Bencia
Regional Commissioner

& The AYSO 1463 Board Members

REGION UPDATE - MAY 20th

AYSO 1463 SPRING SEASON - UPDATE

The latest information from AYSO Region 1463

COUPON CREDIT CODES - IMPORTANT UPDATE!
AYSO National has begun sending partial credit coupon codes as of today (you'll receive an email anytime between now and Thursday). We've already received reports from several of you that you've received them in your email accounts (please make sure to also check your SPAM or JUNK MAIL folders).

Unfortunately, there's some bad news here. As you can imagine, AYSO National has had to work with hundreds of regions throughout the country on this initiative and due to the immense amount of data, there are bound to be errors.

That said, we've encountered a few errors on our end. We decided to investigate everyone's data with a fine tooth comb to attempt to find the errors. As of the writing of this newsletter, we have gone through each and every single one of your accounts and after several hours of work, we've uncovered a few issues that will need to be fixed.

Due to these errors it's possible that AYSO National may need to run the coupon code creation again with the latest corrected data. As of this moment, this is up in the air. Once we have a firm grasp on this, we will provide you an update; possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Apologies for the inconvenience everyone. We're working hard to get this right.

Quick Reminder:
For Core Divisions, the amount you'll be receiving for your partial credit coupon is the total amount you paid for Spring Registration minus $40. This is to account for medals, uniforms and pictures. In order to gauge how much partial credit you'll receive, please check the amount you originally paid for the Spring and subtract $40.

DONATIONS MADE TO AYSO 1463 - THANK YOU
To everyone who donated their Spring 2020 fees to our Region, thank you so much! We appreciate this gesture as we know times are tough for everyone out there. That said, we will be working on putting together and sending you a "thank you" packet from our Region. This is just a small gesture from our Region to you as we truly appreciate your support. Expect to see something in the mail sometime in the next few weeks. :)

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON SPRING SELECT
To the parents of our Spring Select program, we have some sad, but expected news. As of late Monday, our Area has given us the official word that our Spring Select program will have to be canceled. All of our regions attempted to find places to play in the Summer but this is still proving to be a very difficult task. So the decision has been made to go ahead cancel the season. We're as disappointed as you.

Spring Select parents, later tonight we will be sending you a second email with important additional information. Please be on the lookout for this email later tonight.

AYSO NATIONAL - READY! SET! PLAYSOCCER WEBSITE

In preparation for our Fall Season, AYSO National is working hard and has put together a website that provides all of us with information on expectations for a Fall 2020 AYSO Season. This website will act as a guide for what changes are in store for the Fall 2020 Season during these uncertain times. The website is ready and live right now. You can take a look at the link below.

AYSO RETURNING TO PLAY SOCCER SITE

AYSO 1463 FALL REGISTRATION 2020
We've been receiving questions about our upcoming Fall 2020 season. For example, when will registration open? Well, the good news is that Fall Registration will open by the end of next week! We're in the process of getting the site set up and running right now. There's still more work to do but the moment our registration site is open , we'll let you know.

NOTE: Once the Region 1463 site is live you may register your children for the Fall Season, but we will not be taking payment until sometime in July. We absolutely need to get moving on putting the Fall Season together however we'd prefer getting as close to the beginning of the season as possible before asking you to submit registration payments. More info on this soon.

GIFT BASKETS! MEDALS! PICTURES!
We are FINALLY close to being ready to provide all of this to you! We're shooting for a "Pick-up Event" sometime in early-to-mid June. Once we solidify these plans, we'll let you know.

Thanks again everyone! That's it for now but we'll definitely be sending you more updates in the near future.

Season Update - April 29th

UPDATE ON SPRING 2020 PHYSICAL PICTURES

Our Region has received our Spring 2020 Season pictures along with all the other picture related merchandise you may have ordered. As we're holding on to hundreds and hundreds of items, we cannot ship them to you so we'll need to find a place and a time for you and your family to pick them up. We're also waiting on Spring 2020 Medals to arrive (ETA mid-May). When the medals arrive, our team will work on putting everything together for each of you.

Once the stay-at-home orders are lifted, we will work on finding a location where you and your family can stop by to pick up your Spring items (this also includes Opening Day GIFT BASKETS for lucky winners to be announced at a later time). We will keep you posted on a date but we expect it to be sometime in June. Thanks everyone!

PARTIAL CREDIT COUPON UPDATES

We've received more information on the process for the Spring 2020 Partial Credit. Once all credit related information has been provided by our Region to our National Office, AYSO National will be emailing you a Partial Credit Coupon code. This one-time use code can be redeemed at check-out when you sign up for either the Fall 2020, Spring 2021, or Fall 2021 season and expires on June 30th, 2021.

Once our Region gets word that coupon codes are being sent to your emails, we will absolutely make sure to let you know so you can check your email along with your Junk or Spam folders.

ETA on when AYSO National will send you your Coupon Code is TBD but we suspect it will be sometime in Late May/Early June so you can use them for Fall 2020 Registrations

Quick Notes on the Coupon Code:
1) This code is a one-time use, unique code. It is NOT tied to your specific child so if you'd like to use the code for another child in your family, that's ok. If you'd like to give it away for someone else to use, that's ok, too. However, once the code is used it will be gone and cannot be used again.

2)  If you lose the email with the code, don't fret. Our Region will have a master list of all coupon codes. So if you decide to register in Fall 2021 and you can't find your coupon code or coupon code email, you'll be able to contact our Region and we'll be able to help.

More information, along with an FAQ, will be made available soon.

DONATE SPRING 2020 FEES TO REGION 1463
If you'd like to donate your Spring 2020 Registration partial credit to our Region instead of receiving the partial credit, you can do so by filling out a quick Google Form (Link below). Your donation would be greatly appreciated by our Region and would go a long way in helping us rebuild and get a great Fall 2020 Season going. Final date to provide your donation is May 7th, 2020.

For those of you who donate, thank you so much! We very much appreciate your support!

Season Update - April 24th

UPDATE ON DIGITAL PICTURES
We recently provided an FYI that families who ordered an add-on for a Digital Picture should have received them by now. We've received a few emails from parents who've stated they haven't received theirs. Please note that the Digital Picture was an "add-on" that incurred an additional cost. It was not included in the default picture packet.

However, if you feel you did pay for the additional digital image and have not received it, please contact our Picture Vendor at the link below. They will work with you directly. Thanks everyone.

UPDATE ON THE SPRING / SUMMER SEASON

Hello Region 1463. We hope everyone is safe, healthy and doing well. We’d like to thank you all for your continued patience during this trying time. Below you'll find various pieces of information regarding the Spring 2020 season. Feel free to read the information below. We've also provided you an update directly from our Regional Commissioner, Jaime Bencia in video form. Feel free to take a listen.

Hit the image below to view the video on Youtube

***IMPORTANT NOTE***
The Spring Season partial credit mentioned in the video (more info below) is one partial credit for use on one of the next three seasons (you can choose either Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Fall 2021). The video may imply that we are providing three seasons' worth of credits. This is not the case. It's only one partial credit that can be used in one of the upcoming seasons. Thank you!

CORE SPRING/SUMMER SEASON UPDATE

We’ve now received some guidance from our National Office and have discussed our options with our Area 1-R Regions. As a result of these conversations, our Executive Board met this past week and after a lengthy discussion, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our Spring/Summer season. This decision is heartbreaking, and we can understand if some of you out there are disappointed, however two major factors have lead us down this path.

First, the safety of our children, our families, our volunteers and our Board Members is our highest priority. While there’s a chance our current situation may improve, we simply felt that there are far too many question marks regarding the Covid pandemic. These questions marks would leave many of us concerned about whether or not returning to our fields in June would be too soon. In these kinds of cases, we always need to error on the side of caution to make sure we keep our children and our community safe.

The second major concern is whether or not both the City of Murrieta and MVUSD will even open our Warm Springs fields in time for June. As of this moment, we cannot get any definitive answers and don’t expect to have one for weeks. We simply do not feel right about continuing to hold all of you in a waiting pattern as we have no clue how soon field usage rights and permits will resolve themselves.

**IMPORTANT NOTE FOR SPRING SELECT PROGRAM***
The Spring Select program, which consists of 4 Select Teams, is not affected by this update. As of this moment, our Area is hoping to put a shortened season together some time in the Summer for you. There are also tournaments in the late June/July timeframe that Select teams can take advantage of. Spring Select teams, please stay tuned for future information regarding your program.

SPRING SEASON 2020 CANCELLATION NEXT STEPS

Please note that all of AYSO’s Regions, including 1463, are non-profit. As a result, we are directed to spend our Registration funds on everything needed to make a season possible. For example, Registration funds are spent on Uniforms, Medals/Trophies, Pictures, City of Murrieta costs, Equipment Purchases, Equipment Maintenance and much, much more.

This is the main reason why youth sports leagues, especially the ones who are non-profit, always provide a final refund reimbursement cut-off date. Once that date expires, a vast majority of the Registration funds are spent on all of the assets and needs for that particular season.

Only a very small amount of funds are left over to carry the region through the season until we reach the next season when the entire process begins anew. This has made things incredibly difficult for our Region as the Spring funds have been spent for the Spring Season before the Covid situation began. Many of these expenses are non-refundable, meaning our Region cannot recoup these costs.

CREDIT FOR THE SEASON (PARTIAL)

However, our Board, working with our National Office, has come up with a solution.

Partial Credit for a Future Season at AYSO 1463

We will make available a one-time, single use Spring Season partial credit for use on one of the following upcoming seasons:

·         Fall 2020 Season

·         Spring 2021 Season

·         Fall 2021 Season

Updated 4/29: This credit will be emailed to you as a Partial Credit coupon by the National AYSO office sometime in late May or June and will carry an expiration date of June 30, 2021. Please note, that if you paid the $20.00 National Fee for the Spring 2020 season, this fee will carry over to your coupon credit as well. You will not have to repay the National Fee. No further action is needed on your part.

However, we will need to adjust the credit based on the expenses we’ve accrued for Spring which cannot be recouped. This is the only way we can provide you a credit and still keep our Region operational.

$40 will be subtracted from the credit amount. This accounts for player Uniforms, Medals, as well as Pictures. Please note that we will be working with each of you to provide you medals and pictures at a later time. We cannot take uniforms back, nor can we return medals or pictures. However, these items are all yours and we will be sure to get them to you.

Our National Office is in the process of working on a system to help automate the credit process and it won’t be ready until then. Once this service is complete, we will make sure to let you know when the partial credit coupons will be emailed to you.

DONATION TO AYSO

Another option would be if your family would be willing to donate your Spring Season fees to the Region. This option would be incredibly appreciated and would help our Region recover and rebuild for the Fall 2020 Season. If you’re willing to help, we will provide an option to donate your funds at the end of May as well.

FALL SEASON 2020 REGISTRATION

For those of you that are curious about the Fall Season Registration timeframe, we cannot open registration until AYSO National emails you the partial credit coupons. Currently, we’re aiming for late May/early June but will keep you posted if anything changes.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Thank you again for your patience and understanding in the last few months everyone. We know all of you would love to be out on the field. On our end, our Region had so many new initiatives that we were chomping at the bit to get out there with you.

However, this time away will give us ample time to prepare for an incredible Fall Season. We’ll do our best to keep you posted on Fall’s progress.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to email us at: [email protected]. We will do our best to get back to you with as much information as possible.

UK INTERNATIONAL (AYSO UK CAMP)

As an alternative, we are still working with UK International (AYSO UK) to hold Summer Soccer camps. The camp instructors include highly trained UK soccer coaches who will provide your children with incredible soccer knowledge!

As you can imagine, things are progressing slowly as updates and mandates on the Covid pandemic are coming in on a regular basis. Season Update - April 8th

REGION 1463 UPDATE – EARLY APRIL

Region 1463! Everyone at our region would like to say a gigantic thank you for your patience and understanding during these trying times. We know that these last number of weeks have been a challenge and unfortunately it appears we have several more weeks to go, but know that all of you are in our thoughts.

We hope that everyone out there is safe, following stay-at-home guidelines and keeping active. It’s important that you and your young soccer players stay in shape!

SEASON UPDATE

As of this moment, we have been informed that Warm Springs fields will be closed until the end of May. This puts our season plans outside of April/May. Our Region 1463 Board met via an online conference call this past week to discuss next steps and to create new and exciting plans for when this entire situation clears itself.

The one thing we absolutely want to avoid is canceling our season. We feel it’s incredibly important for all of our kids to get out there and participate in the game of soccer when the time is right. Not only will it help them regain a sense of normalcy but will give them something to look forward to.

PLANS BEING DISCUSSED

While it appears like starting our season in May will not be possible, the good news is this gives our Region some time to put together a fun and unique variant season that we will be starting in June. At this moment, we don’t have the details laid out quite yet but they are currently in the works. Once we have a plan that’s a bit more solidified, we will be happy to share them with you.

Also, a reminder that we have our AYSO UK Summer Camps available in late June/July and August. These camps are a fantastic way to get your kids back in shape and having fun in the Summer by working with some amazing soccer coaches and trainers from across the Atlantic. We will be providing more information on the Summer Camps in the next few weeks. If any of you are interested in learning more about the Summer Camps, feel free to email us (email address is at the end of this post)

OTHER NEWS

Opportunity Drawing Contest Winners
We have not forgotten about our Opening Day Opportunity Contest winners! After discussing it with the Board, we’ll be looking at the list of the lucky winners and trying to figure out a way to get these winners their prizes.

For larger prizes (i.e. gift baskets), we’ll need to hang tight until we can meet to give them to you. However, our Board Members are working on a way to mail winners their gift card prizes. Several of these gift cards are for places like super markets so we’re sure they will be helpful to you and your families.

We will let you know when these opportunity drawing prizes are being mailed out. When ready, we’ll post the list of winners as well.

Refund Related Questions
A few of you have brought up the subject of refunds. We truly understand where you’re coming from as all of us at AYSO 1463, including Board Members, are currently in the exact same situation together. As of this moment however, we cannot offer refunds. Our region has many factors to evaluate and several financial concerns to consider before we can provide an update on this.

Once ready with this information, we will work on being fully transparent and provide you all with the information we have available, but until then we greatly appreciate the patience and understanding. We’re doing our best to figure all of this out for you and will have more news for you by May.

Picture Packets
A few of you have asked about the status of our Pictures. The vendor we’re working with is currently closed and won’t re-open until this current situation clears itself. Once we get word on picture packets, we’ll inform you and try and find a way to get them to you.

More Info to Come
In the meantime, we’ll keep in close contact with both our AYSO National office, MVUSD and the City of Murrieta in case anything changes in the coming weeks. When they do, we will provide more information.

Thanks Region 1463. You’ve been a great support system the last month or two. Do us a favor and check-in on our website and our Social Media sites and say hello or post pictures/videos of your children at play! We’d love to see them! Site links can be found below.

If you have any questions, concerns, feedback, feel free to email us. We’ll answer your questions to the best of our ability.

Stay safe everyone! More info soon.

Update on Spring Season - March

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

As of 3/13, AYSO National sent all regions throughout the country an update effectively postponing our AYSO Spring season immediately until further notice (this includes all practices & games). As of this moment, we will be looking to resume our Spring season come April. If we receive further guidance from AYSO National changing this course of action we will be sure to pass the information on to you.

In the meantime, we realize that many of you have questions. Unfortunately, due to the unique nature of this event we currently do not have many answers available for you quite yet. That said, we ask for your patience. The AYSO office will be in contact with local Public Health departments to monitor the developing updates. National will then be in contact with us. Once we get clear guidance from the national office, we will then be able to determine our next course of action.

Until then please try and bare with us. We'll get back to all of you soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding everyone!
