Region 325 encourages youths to participate in our referee program. It is a great way to learn responsibility and build a better understanding of the game. Refereeing also earns school volunteer hours.
Youth referees need to be 10 years or older for 8U referee certification (7U & 8U games) and 12 years or older for Regional Referee certification (10U and older games). In addition, youth referees need to be one division older than the game they are refereeing for (i.e. a 14U player may referee a 12U game).
AYSO Youth Referee Requirements
- Referee Certification (8U Official or Regional Referee)
- Safe Haven, Concussions Awareness, & Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Youth referees do not need to take background check, SafeSport, or Livescan.
Getting Started
Youth referees will need their own AYSO account with a unique e-mail address. Log into the parent's AYSO account, select the Edit Account Info gear icon. Scroll to the bottom of the account screen and select Add Additional Account Holder to create the youth's account. This will ensure that your accounts are linked.
