💻 Registration Questions

What does “Waitlist” or “No Programs Available” mean on the registration form?

  • Waitlist: We’ve reached our player limit based on the number of volunteer coaches available. The fastest way to move off the waitlist is to volunteer as a coach!
  • No Programs Available: This may mean your child is outside the eligible age range, or the division has reached full capacity and had to be closed.
📝 Tip: Register early to secure your child’s spot!

⚽ Player Placement & Evaluations

Are there tryouts?

No tryouts for Core! AYSO believes in Everyone Plays—every child gets no less than half the time on the field.

However, evaluations are required to help us create balanced teams.

🕒 About 1 hour | ⚠️ Mandatory for team placement

What are balanced teams?

Each season, we form teams with a mix of skill levels so every game is fair, fun, and competitive. Coaches evaluate players during evaluations to help with team balancing.

📌 Coaches do not form their own teams.

Can I request a specific coach?

We can only honor special need requests. To keep teams balanced, we don’t guarantee coach or friend requests.

What age divisions will there be?

Each season is different you can find what age divisions available on Registration & Fee page.

Registration is open to ALL players who meet the age requirements, regardless of ability, or experience. Open registration is one of the 6 key AYSO philosophies.

AYSO Soccer calculates a player's age for each Membership Year (MY) based upon the year the player was born.

The AYSO Membership Year runs from August 1 through July 31. Participants play in the same Division during the Fall Season and the subsequent Spring Season. Participants move up for the next Fall Season.
