Thank you for your interest in the Rivertowns AYSO EPIC soccer program for special needs players! The EPIC program is the foundation for all the fun, excitement, and learning that happens on the fields! It is where kids fall in love with soccer and make memories that last a lifetime. Please take the time to learn about our program so that you are fully informed before you sign up.

 

PROGRAM SUMMARY: ​ AYSO's EPIC program is designed to provide a quality soccer experience for players in first grade and older whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult for them to participate on mainstream teams. The teams are led by volunteer parent coaches, and each player is assigned a buddy, who volunteers for the role. The buddies are students drawn from our local schools. Buddies work alongside players on their soccer skills while the player is engaged on the field. We often find that a special relationship develops between the players and their buddies.

VOLUNTEERING: Rivertowns AYSO volunteers are parents like you. Please consider volunteering. It is important that we infuse our program with volunteers at each age level because they represent that player and parent community best. Older Team - Sundays, 3:00-4:00

Younger Team - Sundays, 3:00-4:00

Please note: There’s a need to be flexible with team placement. The age of the players generally designates which team they are on, but in some cases, other factors are taken into consideration and we may recommend a player switch from one team to another.

$115 Rivertowns EPIC program registration fee

+ $25 AYSO National Player Fee for each player -- non-refundable

+ $2.75 transaction fee-- non-refundable

+$40 (approx.) uniform fee for new players, non-refundable (returning players can continue to wear their uniforms from prior years, if they fit

PARENTS DO UNIFORM ORDERING: Parents purchase uniforms directly from the vendor after registering and they get shipped to your home. If your player already has a uniform from a prior year, and it still fits, no need to order.

 

SCHEDULE AND GROUPS: Our schedule is a projection. Groups need to have sufficient enrollment for our organization to be able to run them. If a particular group is under-enrolled, we may adjust the schedule, Please be aware of this when you register. We appreciate your flexibility, as we try to achieve the goal of having fully enrolled groups.

 

FULL GROUPS/WAITLIST: The registration system waitlist is the only mechanism we use to track players interested in joining a full group. It is also how we communicate with you if a spot opens up. Signing up for the waitlist is just like registering, but you do not pay anything. You still have to go through the process, fill out the forms, check all the boxes, and complete the checkout of the shopping cart. If you do this correctly, you will get an email receipt. If you do not get a receipt, you need to log back in and try again.

 

RESPECT OUR FIELDS: We remain grateful to the villages and schools for the use of their fields and facilities. We are guests. We ask that all players and parents treat the equipment, fields, and grounds with respect. Please no dogs, per the policies of the villages and schools. Don't let your children climb on, hang on, or push over goals for safety reasons and to keep our equipment in great shape for soccer. Clean up all trash you may produce (bottles, food wrappers, etc.). Thank you for your cooperation!

RAINOUTS/WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: All of our fields are outdoors. Expect some rainouts, they are out of our control and happen in every youth sports program held outdoors. We send emails when activities are canceled due to weather and/or field conditions. In some cases, if inclement weather occurs later in the day or suddenly, the coach at the field has the authority to cancel.
