Rivertowns United Travel Coaches --
Prerequisites to Getting a WYSL Coach Pass and Being Eligible to Appear on Your Team's Game-Day Roster
Rivertowns United travel teams participate in the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL). The WYSL requires every coach and assistant coach to have a coach pass. "Coach passes" attest that coaches have completed all the WYSL requirements and met the league's standards, and they need to be re-issued every year. This used to be a physical, laminated ID card, but now it means that your name can appear on your team's official game-day roster -- the one you have to print out and bring to every game and hand to the referee.
The requirements are worthy in that their intention includes the safety and well-being of our youth players and training standards for the coaches, but keeping track of everything can be overwhelming for new coaches; returning coaches have it easier.
Our Travel Registrar contacts registered coaches each year and details the requirements that apply that particular year.
NOTE: Travel coaches and AYSO coaches have DIFFERENT requirements. If you only coach travel, do only the travel requirements. If you only coach AYSO, do only the AYSO requirements (under Coaches / AYSO). If you coach both, do both.
