Rivertowns United Travel Coaches --
Prerequisites to Getting a WYSL Coach Pass and Being Eligible to Appear on Your Team's Game-Day Roster
For Rivertowns United travel teams that participate in the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL), the WYSL requires every coach and assistant coach to have a coach pass. "Coach passes" attest that coaches have completed all the WYSL requirements and met the league's standards, and they need to be re-issued every year. This used to be an actual pass-card for each individual, but now it means that your name can appear on your team's official game-day roster -- the one you have to print out and bring to every game and hand to the referee.
The requirements are worthy in that their intention includes the safety and well-being of our youth players and training standards for the coaches, but keeping track of everything can be overwhelming for new coaches; returning coaches have it easier.
Each year, ahead of the season start, coaches will get information about the requirements that apply that particular year. To learn more any time of year, visit the Coach tab at https://www.wyslsoccer.org.
NOTE: WYSL travel coaches and AYSO coaches have DIFFERENT requirements. If you only coach a WYSL travel team, do only the travel requirements. If you only coach AYSO, do only the AYSO requirements (under Coaches / AYSO). If you coach both a WYSL team and an AYSO team, do both.
