EXTRA PROGRAMThe EXTRA Program offers a more advanced level of competition for players who possess the appropriate skills, commitment, and abilities. The program offers soccer development opportunities similar to club soccer but maintains the core AYSO philosophies – including a guarantee that they will play at least half of every game. Players are selected through a competitive tryout process.
TRYOUTS
If you are planning on attending tryouts, please pre-register here: 2025 EXTRA REGISTRATION
Tryout dates and times for the Fall 2025 season are listed below. They are all at Peterson Elementary (20661 Farnsworth Lane, HB)

The AYSO EXTRA program is a tryout based program for players who want to play in a more competitive division. All players must tryout and attend at least one tryout, but we encourage players to attend both. Returning players DO NOT receive an automatic placement on teams and must tryout, too. Players who are chosen to participate will be notified shortly after tryouts.
EXTRA teams compete against other EXTRA teams in the Southern California Extra Development Soccer League (SCEDSL) which consists of multiple AYSO Sections, Areas, Regions in Southern California, and sometimes in tournaments identified by the coach.

There may also be fees for any optional tournaments in which the team participates
COMMITMENT
Players selected for the EXTRA Program will commit to their teams as their priority non-school activity. It is expected that every player attends each practice and game at the agreed-upon times. In order to satisfy the commitment required by the EXTRA Program, players may not be enrolled and participate in other non-AYSO or Club soccer programs during the EXTRA Program season.
SCHEDULE
EXTRA teams will not play other Region 56 teams during the Fall season or participate in All Stars.
There will be some travel involved.
Games are usually on weekends and there may be games on Sundays.
The season starts at the same time as the Region’s Fall season and usually ends a week after the end of the regular season.
