The EXTRA Program offers a more advanced level of competition for players who possess the appropriate skills, commitment, and abilities. The program offers soccer development opportunities similar to club soccer but maintains the core AYSO philosophies – including a guarantee that they will play at least half of every game. Players are selected through a competitive tryout process.

TRYOUTS FOR 2026 SEASON

This year, we are having tryouts in January to allow the 2026 team to compete in both the Spring 2026 and Fall 2026 seasons. The tryouts are specifically for the Fall 2026 season. The hope is that the majority of players will also play in the Spring 2026 season as a team as well.

TRYOUT NOTES

Tryouts are closed to spectators and we will only allow participants on the field.
It is strongly recommended that players attend both tryouts but they must attend at least one to be considered for a team.   

AGE DIVISION CHART -2026

Per Section guidelines, players may NOT play up into a higher division unless there is not an Extra team for their division in their region.
It is each player/parent's responsibility to make sure they attend the appropriate tryout. 

*Younger 2013 Extra players (Aug-Dec 2013) may play up in 14u with RC approval

TEAMS

We will hold tryouts for all age levels appropriate for Extra and the viability of a team will be determined by the number of participants and assessed talent. As well, we will need to have qualified coaches in each division.  Only one extra team per division and gender will be formed IF we have a qualified coach and enough talented players. 

The region will determine the number of EXTRA teams based upon the number of EXTRA caliber players identified during tryouts and the availability of qualified coaches.

Teams are selected by a panel of expereinced coaches and board members.

All players will be notified whether or not they have made a team. 

Team will be made of players in single age brackets
U9/U10: 7 v 7
U11/U12: 9 v 9
U13/U14: 11 v 11

COST

EXTRA Players pay the normal fall registration fee, plus additional fees for custom uniforms and specialized training.

There may also be fees for any optional tournaments in which the team participates

COMMITMENT

In order to satisfy the commitment required by the EXTRA Program, players may not be enrolled and participate in other non-AYSO or Club soccer programs during the EXTRA Program season.

SCHEDULE

EXTRA teams will not play other Region 56 teams during the Fall season or participate in All Stars. 
There will be some travel involved.
Games are usually on weekends and there may be games on Sundays.
 Many teams also participate in tournaments before and after the season.
