Q) I recognize that AYSO is an all-volunteer organization but I do not have the time to coach. Are there any other smaller jobs that might better fit my schedule?
A) There are many behind the scene jobs that make our organization work. If you are interested in volunteering some time or energy, please email [email protected], Regional Commissioner.
Q) I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. How do I get more information?
A) Our monthly Board Meetings are held on Zoom or at the San Luis Business Center on Los Osos Valley Road and S. Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo at 6:00pm on the 3rd Monday of the month. Board Meetings are open to anyone looking to get involved with or get more information about AYSO. Dinner is served so if you plan to attend, please let us know by email to [email protected]. Board Member Information is listed on the "About Us" tab.
Q) How do I register to volunteer?
A) When you register your player, the opportunity to register as a AYSO Volunteer is part of the Blue Sombrero registration process. We hope you choose to spend some of your time and/or talents supporting our local program!
There are several requirements either mandated by AYSO, US Soccer Federation or the State of California. They are as follows: register as a volunteer with AYSO, complete AYSO's Safe Haven certification, Concussion Awareness class, Sudden Cardiac Arrest class, be fingerprinted under the California mandated program, and take the SafeSport class as required by US Soccer Federation. Except fingerprinting, these can be accomplished through the Blue Sombrero portal. Once you are a Registered Volunteer, you will be able to sign up within the portal and take all the required classes and schedule an appointment for fingerprinting. Thank you in advance!
