Coaching with AYSO Region 716
AYSO is a volunteer-run organization, and coaches are the heart of our program. Whether you're a parent, relative, or community member, coaching is a meaningful way to support youth sports. No prior soccer experience is required—AYSO provides full training, resources, and ongoing support.
Why Volunteer as a Coach?

- Learn leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Time Commitment
- Playground/Schoolyard: One-hour session per week (Saturdays only)
- 6U–8U: One weekday practice and one Saturday game per week
- 10U and older: One to two weekday practices and one weekend game
Schedules are flexible and coordinated with your availability and team needs.
Training & Certification
All AYSO coaches complete the following:
- Volunteer application and background check
- AYSO Safe Haven training
- Concussion Awareness training
- Division-specific coaching course (online or in-person)
Most training can be completed online and takes less than 1–2 hours total.
