General Information
AYSO Region 1089 is a 100% volunteer organization. All of the coaches, officials, team parents, administrators, etc., are volunteers. Most of the volunteers are parents, but some of our volunteers are non-parent relatives, community members, and even former players who continue to participate but in a different role.
There is NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! It only takes a few hours to become qualified as an introductory-level coach or referee. But if you’re not able to commit even that much time, there are many small jobs with which we can use your help -- field setup, snack bar, uniform distribution, photography, etc.. Even a couple of hours each season are an important contribution to making sure your child has a positive experience.
AYSO training doesn’t stop as long as you’re having fun. Referees, coaches and administrators have clinics, workshops and other advanced training available to advance their skills. ALL volunteers must be registered with AYSO, who screens all volunteers to ensure the safety of our children. Your information will not be shared with any third party. Key personal information (e.g., social security numbers) will be encrypted. You will need to fill in specific information including details on personal references. Once you are ready, please click on the link below to apply to be a volunteer through AYSO national's system.
Don't forget to take the CDC Concussion Awareness certification. The course is available at AYSO University -- log in with your AYSO ID number and last name.
