When does the season start?
Generally, our Fall Season starts with practice in August and games after Labor day. Spring starts in March and ends early June.
What is included in my registration fee?
Your registration fee includes field reservations, uniforms, and a basic picture package. Our U4 and EPIC program may differ slightly.
When are games played?
For our U4 & U5 Programs - Saturdays only
Under-6 through Under-14 - Saturdays, for the most part. There may be the occasional Friday evening games and/or away games. Under-12 and Under-14 players may play Friday evenings under the lights more often.
All home games are played at Rancho Jurupa Sports Complex - 5249 Crestmore Rd., Jurupa Valley, CA 92509
When are practices?
Our coaches are volunteers so we let them choose practice dates. Most of our coaches practice on either M/W or T/Th at Rancho Jurupa Sports Complex where we have fields reserved.
Practice slots are generally 6-7 or 7-8 PM (older divisions may practice longer than an hour if field space is available). New practice slots will become available as early as 5PM for those teams that prefer that time slot. If you would like to control the practice dates for your child’s team please contact a division coordinator to volunteer as the coach.
Under-4 and Under-5 do not practice during the week - only Saturdays before games
Under-6 only practice one night a week for one hour
How are teams formed?
Each season, we ask coaches to fill out player evaluations and we use that information to form balanced teams. We then begin reaching out to the formed teams for a parent to volunteer to coach the team. We are an all volunteer organization and need your help to be successful.
It's getting close to the season and I haven't heard from a coach. What do I do?
Be patient - coaches only receive their teams when they've met volunteer requirements. We do not hand out teams until approximately two weeks before the first game.
I want to coach. Where do I start?
Go to Blue Sombrero and fill out a volunteer application. After that, visit AYSOU.org and go from there. Contact our Regional Coach Admin to get all the steps to coach.
I'm willing to be an assistant coach to someone. What do I do?

What duties does a Team Parent/Manager have?
Creating snack schedules, helping your coach communicate with parents, arranging team parties, ordering banner (if team opts for these things), order team trophies (if the team opts for these things), and helping manage picture/carnival day.
What equipment does my child need?
Shin guards are required for all players. They cannot practice or play without them. Cleats are strongly recommended. A soccer ball (size 3 for U4-U8, size 4 for U10-U12, size 5 for U14 and above) is also necessary.
When do we get the uniforms?
Coaches will hand out the uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) before the first game. Jerseys are bought based on average player sizes months before the season and/or teams are formed and are not purchased specific to any one player. Coaches are to hand out uniforms shortest to tallest and are able to order a replacement if a jersey is to small after having done so.
Can I request a coach or that my child play with someone else?
No, we simply cannot fulfill all these requests and make Balanced Teams. You also cannot request practice days/times. If you have practice day/time requirements, please consider coaching.

When are team pictures?
During our Fall season, we take a Saturday off from games to take pictures. Basic picture packages are included in your registration fee. For Spring, there are games on picture day.
I’m on the waitlist, what is next?
If your child is on the waitlist, we will notify you if a spot becomes available. You will receive an email notification to pay the fees. Once you pay the registration fees after being activated, we can then send your child’s information to their coach. We activate from the waitlist up to two weeks in the start of games and stop after that.
What are volunteer points?
Volunteer points are earned 1 point per hour per adult for various tasks throughout the season as they become available. Referee volunteer points are earned quicker.
What is Jurupa Cup?
This is an end-of-season tournament that determines first and second place in U10 and above age groups. Volunteer points must be earned to advance to Jurupa Cup. Win/loss records are not a criteria to advance into Jurupa Cup.
Under-8 and below teams have a different schedule of play than typical tournament style for older players.
In the Fall season, first place winners have the opportunity to advance to Area R playoffs.
