Q: What does AYSO stand for?
A: American Youth Soccer Organization. 

Q: What kind of program is it?
A: This is a national soccer program where children are placed onto teams, learn about soccer, and play in organized games. AYSO has been providing a world-class youth soccer program for more than fifty years based on our Six Philosophies of Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, Open Registration and Player Development. Built on the power of volunteer support, AYSO brings together community members to coach, referee and support their local Regions with the ultimate goal of creating a fun, family-friendly environment where your child can grow and develop not only their soccer skills, but their leadership and social skills for life.

Q: Who can register?
A: Boys and girls ages approximately 3-11 yrs. are eligible to play. (Approximately because depends on birth year)

Q: Is it ok if my child has never played before?
A: Absolutely! In our region, by rule, each child is guaranteed to play at least 3/4 of every game! 

Q: What does division 6U mean?
A: 6U means 6 years old and under.  8U means 8 years old and under and so forth.  Your child's division is determined by birth year.  

Q: How does Playground Soccer work?
A:  AYSO Playground is a unique program designed by child development and soccer experts to give your child a foundation for sports success.  Players and a parent* (or other adult) will participate weekly in age appropriate, storybook adventures.  Your player will hop, skip, jump, run, throw, balance, kick… and play. Playground participants meet once a week and there is no team play.  *Parent participation is required.

Q: When can I register?
A: For Fall soccer, registration is open from May 1 to August 15th. Registration and payment can be completed online right here on this website.  Click "Registration Instructions" tab for step by step instructions.

Q:  Do you accept cash or check to pay registration fee?
A:  We do not accept cash or check.  All fees must be paid online with a credit or debit card.

Q: When does the season start?
A: Fall season starts the week of August 26th. 

Q: What about practices?
A: Practices happen once or twice a week on a day and time designated by the coach. If you volunteer to coach, you get to choose the day and time that works best for you!

Q: What equipment do I need?
A: It is mandatory to wear shin guards for practices and games. A ball, cleats, and a water bottle are highly recommended. Uniforms (shirt, shorts and socks) will be provided. 

Q: What size ball do I need?
A: Ages 3 to 7 use a size 3 soccer ball.  Ages 8 to 11 use a size 4.  

Q: Who are the coaches and referees?
A: The coaches and referees are volunteers. AYSO is an all-volunteer organization. The team parents, coaches, division coordinators and even the Commissioner of the League are all volunteers. The program doesn’t run without volunteers and everyone is asked to contribute in some way.
