Registration for the Spring 2024 Season

AYSO will be changing from a school year registration to a birth year registration in order to align with other youth soccer providers' interpretation of the U.S. Soccer Player Development Initiatives.

The effective date of age determination for registration shall be the player's age as of December 31 2023, looking ahead of the Membership Year.  Example: For MY2023 Spring, the division the child will be placed in will be determined based on their age on December 31, 2023. 

For MY2024 (Fall 2024/Spring 2025) a players division will be based on their age as of December 31, 2024.  A new chart for MY2024 will be posted Summer 2024.

Participants who shall turn four years of age between January 1 and December 31 are eligible for AYSO Playground Soccer.

To help in determining the proper age and division for players, the following chart is provided and guidelines and rules are as follows from U.S. Soccer.

**NOTE the age divisions at AYSO Region 612 will differ a little from what is listed below.  Playground & Schoolyard will be combined. (minimum age 3 years old). Divisions 16U & Up will have teams only if we have enough player interest to form teams.  Minimum of 12 players needed in those divisions.  All other divisions will be on the even year division breakout (6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, & 14U).

The Spring season starts in February and goes to June. Teams will be formed in the start of February and the games will start in March 9th for older groups and our younger ages groups will start on March 16th.  Your coach will reach out to you to let you know your practice schedule and game schedule.

Scholarships

AYSO 612 ATHENS wants to provide soccer to as many players as want to join. We understand not everyone can manage all the expenses that Athens and the many activities around require. Therefore, the region sets aside a little money for scholarships, and additionally gives families a chance to donate to our scholarship fund during registration.

Scholarships are designed to assist McMinn and Meigs counties families that may be having financial hardships by paying part of the Program Fee from our scholarship fund. We're sorry, but the scholarships don't cover the Membership Fee or Service Fee, and are for McMinn and Meigs counties families only.

If money is tight for you, but you still want to get your children in soccer, you should request a scholarship. Requests are confidential and shared only with a select few board members.
