Welcome to the Weston League officially known as Weston Adult Soccer League (WAS).
Our League was funded towards the end of the 90s and officially established in the year 2000. Originally created as an Over 30 11v11, it became an Over 35 a few years after its creation. From 6 teams it grew to 10 teams.
Six (6) years ago we created the Over 45 8v8 Division as a response of the need of many players unable to continue playing the Over 35 Division.
A couple of years ago we experimented with a new Competency, the Over 42 11v11 Division with six (6) teams. Unfortunately the lack of available fields forced us to cancel it and the majority of its players moved to the City of Davie where a new Adult League was starting. The remaining of players joined the Over 45 Division.
We had over 350 adult players registered last year.
Over 35 11v11 Division
This is kind of an “open” Division with respect to player’s assignments. Team players are selected by captains regardless of their skills.
Players must attend tryouts for captains to know them upon registrations.
The Division has ten (10) teams with a minimum of nineteen (19) players roster. Maximum twenty three (23).
Games are for 90 minutes total.
We use a full regular soccer field. Ten (1) field players plus a goalie. Unlimited substitutions.
Games are played on Sundays at 8:00am and/or 9:45am. Occasionally we need to play on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays when we have rainouts on Sunday. All games are played at Weston Regional Park.
The season is made of two (2) rounds where every team plays each other once each round for a total of 18 games (with 10 teams). The number of games and format could change for next season depending on the number of teams formed.
After that, teams will play up to seven (7) more games during playoff phase.

Over 45 8v8 Division
We started the Over 45 8v8 with six (6) teams, then 7, 8 and the last two seasons we had ten (10). We expect to grow this year with one 1-2 new teams depending on registrations.
Every team has a 14 players roster minimum (15 max). We play four (4) quarters of 22 ½ minutes for 90 minutes total
We use half of the regular soccer field and game is played transversely. Seven field players plus a goalie. Unlimited substitutions.
Games are played on Sundays at 8:00am and/or 9:45am. Occasionally we need to play on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays when we have rainouts on Sunday. All games are played at Weston Regional Park.
Our season starts midway on September and ends towards the end of May or beginning of June. We rest during December holidays.
The season is made of three (3) rounds where every team plays each other once each round for a total of 27 games (with 10 teams). The number of games and format could change for next season depending on the number of teams formed.
Winners of each round plus the three (3) best teams of standing table qualify for the playoffs. We have an elimination game, semi-finals and final.
In the Over 45 Division every player has a “ranking”. This number is assigned by a captains committee and its purpose is to balance the teams.
New players to the League must attend at least three (3) tryouts in order to be evaluated. Players will be notified of the tryout days via email.
The ranking system is applicable only to the Over 45 8v8 Division. The Over 35 11v11 Division is “free” which means captains are allowed to choose their players regardless of players ranking.
In order to play in the Over 45 8v8 Division you must be 45 years old by December 31 of the year the season starts. This is non-negotiable requirement.

Tuesdays and Thursday (pickups) Program
Simultaneously the League has the option to play Tuesdays and Thursday (pickups). Program runs simultaneously with Divisions season from September 1st to July 31 of following year.
It is suggested for new players to the League to register for Tuesday and Thursdays in order to know the players and allowing captains to know them. This process allows new players to be evaluated.
All players registered to play on Sundays for any of the Divisions automatically have the right to play Tuesdays and Thursdays
The cost to play the entire season in the Over 45 Division is expected to be around $315.
The cost for Over 35 11v11 Division is expected to be around $325.00.
The cost to play Tuesday and Thursdays pickups is $175.00.
The registration fee includes the City Park fees, AYSO fee, an aliquot for a complementary insurance and uniform (jersey, short and socks) of the Over 45 and Over 35 Divisions.
The registrations for the next season will start towards the end of August.
