Soccerfest Event Information

Soccerfest 2017

Soccerfest will conclude our 2017 AYSO 225 soccer season and is scheduled for November 17th-19th, 2017 at Thomas Park located at 14300 W Thomas Road, Goodyear, Arizona, with additional overflow field usage at Turney Park located adjacent to Mabel Padgett Elementary School located at 15430 W Turney Avenue, Goodyear, Arizona.  Soccerfest is a celebration of the soccer way of life, and will incorporate our final soccer games of the season.  U4, U5 and U6 will be invited to participate on Saturday, November 11th, but players are welcome to enjoy the festivities all weekend.  U8 will have games both Saturday and Sunday, with no standings.  The U10-U14 divisions will participate in a tournament style playoff with standings (1st-4th place).  Due to the volume of teams and the limited field space, a few age divisions may start their games Friday evening (November 10th).  Schedules will be posted for this event by November 10th, 2017.

Some of the fun events included in Soccerfest are as follows:

  • Kids Play Area (minimal cost for activities to include face painters, balloon art, photo booth and misc other activities);
  • Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon;
  • Silent Auction Event (great holiday shopping opportunity with funds to support a great cause);
  • Beautiful games of soccer; and
  • A lot of children smiling!

We need assistance from the parents for this event.  How can you help?  Please consider the following:

  • Mark your calendars for November 17th, 18th and 19th, 2017 for this event and plan on your families’ attendance for Friday evening (U10 and older), Saturday (all divisions) and Sunday (U8 and older) games where applicable;
  • Each team is asked to donate a themed gift basket for Soccerfest’s Silent Auction.  Funds from this event assist with the costs associated with the venue and the kids’ activities involved.  Please assist your team in coordinating this;
  • Offer volunteer hours at the event.  Each team will be asked to assist in this regard;
  • Please arrive prior to game start time and park where allowed;
  • Check game schedules Friday morning (November 17th) to insure no time confusion and verify no game corrections;
  • Remember to have your coach collect end-of-season trophies for your player and pictures if not retrieved yet (Region 225 only) at the Headquarters Tent;
  • If your team places 1st-4th (U10 and older only), please have your coach retrieve the medals at the Headquarters Tent; and
  • Most importantly, have FUN!
