PARENT PARTICIPATION

Each family is responsible for three hours of "Parent Participation" for each registered child. Coaches,  Assistant Coaches (1 per team), Team Parents (1 per team) and Referees who have Completed their 2014 Volunteer form, are Safe Haven Certified and hold proper Job-Specific Certification will be considered to have completed their Parent Participation. All other families must sign up and complete 3 hours of volunteering per registered child.

PARENT PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITIES

HELPING AT REGISTRATION:
An easy way to complete the Parent Participation requirement is to sign-up to help at an upcoming 2014 Fall Season Registration.  Each Saturday sign up will qualify for 3 hours.  Each weeknight registration will complete two hours.Parent Participants should be able to do the job they sign up for. 

  • Player Registration requires a small amount of computer literacy. 
  • Player evaluation requires the ability to review a player in a series of events provide a rating (Coaching Experience preferred)
  • Volunteer Recruitment requires a basic knowledge of the volunteer positions available (details will be provided)

BYLAW RELATING TO PARENT PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT

14. Parental Participation  AYSO Region 106 is a volunteer organization.  Each Coach, Referee, Team Parent & Board Member gives their time to ensure the Region has a solid foundation.  In order to ensure the Region is able to provide the very best youth sports environment and keep registration costs at a minimum, each player’s family is encouraged to participate in the functioning of the region by completing a minimum of three (3) hours parental participation per season per registered player in the family.

a.       Parent Participation opportunities will be made available throughout the season and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

b.      Parent Participation opportunities and fulfillment will be tracked throughout the season.
c.       Players of families who fail to fulfill the parent participant requirements will not be eligible for the following secondary season programs; All-Stars, Area Playoffs & Spring Select.
          a.       Families unable to fulfill their Parent Participation Requirement due to league or organization restrictions will be exempt from penalty upon review by CVPA and Regional Commissioner.
