River Valley Soccer Club (AYSO region 1005)

SEASON TIMELINE
The soccer season starts around the last two weeks of April, weather permitting. For SchoolYard, 6U and 8U, the season typically ends the first or second week of June. The 10U/12U/14U Divisions end the season with the Baldwin Blast tournament, typically held the second or third weekend in June.

Once registration closes and team rosters are complete, you will receive an email from your coach with specific details regarding your team's practice and game schedule.

PRACTICE/GAMES
Practice schedules are determined by coaches and game schedules for 10U and up are created by the Area Director. Typically, you can expect the following:
SchoolYard: One session per week
6U: One practice per week, including a short game
8U: One practice and one game per week (games are against our own 8U teams)
10U/12U/14U: Two practices per week, one Saturday game per week (matches include travel to surrounding regions)

FIELD LOCATION
Fields are located behind the Osceola Medical Center.

AGE DIVISIONS
Age Divisions are determined by birthdate and are based on the age of the player on December 31st. Your player will automatically be placed in the correct division based on their date of birth.

AYSO River Valley currently offers a SchoolYard, 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U division. Because of the determinants above, a player with a late or early birthday may land in a different division but in general, below is what you can expect.

6U = 6 and under (typically 5 and  6 yr olds)
8U = 8 and under (typically 7  (7U) and 8 yr olds)
10U = 10 and under (typically 9 (9U) and 10 yr olds)
12U = 12 and under (typically 11 (11U) and 12 yr olds)
14U = 14 and under (typically 13 and 14 yr olds)

Examples:
If your child is currently 10 but will turn 11 on or before December 31st,  they will be in the 12U Division (listed as 11U). If they are currently 10 but will not turn 11 until after December 31st, they will be in the 10U Division.

TEAM ROSTERS
We strive to create balanced teams by taking into consideration the age, years of experience and skill level of every player.

COACHES
AYSO is a non-profit organization run by the power of volunteers. Every position, up to the National President, is a volunteer. Our region’s coaches are often parents who commit their time to providing an enriching soccer experience to all. Without volunteers, our program is not possible. Please consider volunteering.
