We are so excited offer another season of AYSO. We are also delighted to continue providing coaches/trainers from Joe Palumbo Soccer Academy that will be running our sessions again this season!
Here are the basics:
WHEN: Our sessions are on Saturday mornings.
For opening weekend only, please have Returning Players wear last year's uniform and New Players should wear shorts, sneakers/cleats, and bring a light and dark t-shirt. Uniforms will be given out once the teams have been established.
WHERE: We play on the back field at Putnam Valley Elementary School. The field is located at 171 Oscawana Lake Road, Putnam Valley, NY 10579. Please let me know via reply email if you are not familiar with the location.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR YOUR CHILD: AYSO provides a uniform (jersey, shorts, soccer socks) for every player. The players will need to supply their own gear as follows:
1. SOCCER BALL - size #3 for U5/U6 & U8, size #4 for U10. These are the correct sizes by age group; most sporting goods stores carry balls in sizes 3,4, and 5, usually marked as such on the ball.
2. A pair of SOCCER SHIN GUARDS (which are REQUIRED to be worn underneath the soccer socks). You can get a pair at pretty much any sporting goods store (you do NOT need a fancy expensive pair - your child is going to outgrow them soon...)
3. APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR - sneakers are OK; soccer or multipurpose soft cleats are good, especially because we do have dewy grass most mornings (again – no need to go top of the line on cleats that are going to be outgrown soon). No hard sole shoes or sharp cleats.

4. Water bottle for refreshment breaks.

REMINDER** NO JEWELRY OF ANY KIND is permitted - please leave any bracelets, earrings, etc. at home.
We have a lost and found located by the field entrance. Please check throughout the season for items that may belong to you.
We are accepting donations of outgrown cleats, old uniforms and any other soccer gear. If you are looking to get rid of soccer items, please bring them to the equipment boxes at the field entrance.
Also, please check the donation bin for items your player may need.
RAIN PROCEDURE: We will post the status on our FACEBOOK page and try to email prior to start time, so please check FACEBOOK and your email on days where the weather is in question.
