AYSO Area 9R has returned to play for the 2020/21 Season in most Regions. In accordance with Utah Department of Health, AYSO Area 9R has adopted Utah Youth Soccer's Yellow Phase Return to play guidelines.
Working in conjunction with the Utah Department of Health and after careful review of the COVID-19 School Manual we have outlined the updated guidelines and protocols for all training sessions and games to be implemented immediately.
In order for us to run an uninterrupted Fall season, it’s imperative that all coaches focus on social distancing and limiting “Close Contact Exposure” during training sessions and matches. “Close Contact Exposure” is defined as, “a person who was closer than 6ft from someone for 15 minutes or longer and tested positive for COVID-19”. The key point being that the person who tested positive was un-masked during this exposure period.
With the main focus on limiting “Close Contact Exposure” for players and coaches, these measures are most important and must be followed at all times.
- Coaches must wear masks at all times while on the sidelines
- Players must wear masks anytime they are not participating in soccer activities
- To/from the field
- Pre/halftime/post-match talks
- On the bench during matches
- Social distance whenever players are not participating in soccer activities
- Limit carpooling whenever possible
- Limit physical contact –high fives, fist bumps, hugs, etc.
- Do not attend training or matches if you exhibit any symptoms
- Do not attend training or matches if you have had “Close Contact Exposure” to someone who tested positive for COVID-19
