Nielsen Field:

Below is the “Goal Grid” about where the goals are stored and where they go on the field.  The first teams on the schedule are responsible for setup.  On Saturday, U8 and U10 begin at 8:00 a.m. except that GU10 starts at 10:00 a.m. on the Mace Field where the VIPs do most of the setup.  Make sure your goals are staked and the corner flags are up.

The last teams are responsible for the teardown.  If you’re not sure if you are the last team, the rule of thumb is that if nobody is warming up after your match, you are probably the last match and do the teardown.

On the Nielsen East fields (BU8), there is a basic teardown after the 9:00am matches because the Older VIPs use the large field.  Just move the goals off the big field and put the stakes in the bags.   Then at 11:30am, the VIPs move the big goals off and the BU8s need to move the goals back on the field and stake them.  Replace the corner flags as well.

The large field on Nielsen West is used by U16s and U19s.  The field can stay set up overnight on Saturday as we use it again on Sunday.  The last Sunday match does the teardown.  Nielsen East is used both as a U10 field and U12 or U14 field.  Last teams do the teardown.  Please watch the schedule.

Notes regarding Goal Storage:

Goal openings face the fences.  This is a safety issue.  We are trying to avoid having a kid hang on the goal, pull it over on themselves and die.  It happens somewhere every year in the U.S.

Where two goals are stored together, please stand them shoulder to shoulder less than one foot apart so we can secure them with one lock.  Goal stakes either go in the bag on the goal (pointy end up) or back to the storage bin on the south. The corner flags also go in the storage bin.

Please pack out all trash to the green dumpster on the north end of the parking lot.  There is also a blue dumpster for recycling.  Please do not overfill the trash cans on the field.

Thanks for helping with our fields.  All your efforts are really appreciated.
