Goalkeepers are allowed to punt the ball.
10U Division
In an effort to encourage possession soccer, an extra line known as the "build-out line" has been added to each half of the field.
When the goalkeeper is in possession of the ball, both in their hand or for a goal kick, the defending team must retreat behind that line. The goalkeeper is no longer required to roll or pass the ball to a teammate who is on his/her side (the attacking team's side) of the line.
Goalkeepers may NOT drop kick or punt the ball.
Attacking team may cross the BOL as soon as the ball is in play.
7U/8U Divisions
When the ball goes out of bounds over the touch line (sideline), players will continue to restart play with a throw-in, but referees will not enforce "correct" throw-in form.
Safe Haven/Concussion Awareness
AYSO Safe Haven certification is now required every two years. In addition, in accordance with California state law, the CDC Concussion Awareness class is now required for all coaches, referees, and other administrators every two years. If your certification for either of those two is from Membership Year 7/31/17 or earlier, you must retake it. Both courses are available at AYSOU. Please use the same username and password as you did for this web site.
