Los Feliz AYSO Spring 2024 Season
The Spring season begins on February 24th at the Spring Kick Off event at Thomas Starr King Middle School where we assess players' skill levels, and soon after choose teams and begin practicing. The first sessions/games for 4U-14U will be March 16, 2024 and the last regular season sessions/games will be May 19, 2024. Approximately 950 players ranging from 3 to 18 years of age play in 10 games (whether a combination of regular season or playoff game) each Spring season. Many of our players live in Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Atwater Village, Echo Park, and Eagle Rock, but players from nearby cities are welcome as registration is open to all players.
- All players are part of balanced teams and we may ask players to attend an assessment to determine their skill level.
- All players play at least half of each game attended.
NOTE: Due to our size, WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE PLAYER REQUESTS. This is in line with all the other regions of our size due to impracticality. WE MAY ALSO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE COACHES REQUESTING TO COACH TOGETHER, as we try our best to form balanced teams.
NOTE: The season is Open Registration and we will try to place every applicant on a team, unfortunately in some situations we will not be able to place players due to a lack of volunteers. Team formation requires coaches, referees and team parents. Players will be turned away if we do not have sufficient volunteers. Consider volunteering in one of these key roles. Multiple training opportunities will be offered in the weeks approaching the season start and the first few weeks of the season. These training sessions are free, and your resulting certification will remain good forever, meaning you will not need to recertify each year as a coach or referee.

Frequently Asked Questions
What division will my child play in?
AYSO uses birth year registration to determine age divisions in order to align with the U.S. Soccer Player Development Initiatives. 10U-B is the boys division and 10U-G is the girls division. In some younger divisions, these divisions are single year groups. In older divisions, two birth years are combined. 4U, 5U and 6U are co-ed.

EPIC (formerly known as VIP) Special Needs Program - 5 years old to 99 years old (if you know someone who can't play on a mainstream team because of a physical or mental disability, please tell them about our VIP program. We have professional coaching, enthusiastic volunteers and a great program... we just need more VIP players!)
What if my child can't attend their team's practice time?
Only the coach determines the team's practice time. If you can't coach, options for parents whose children are unable to attend their team's regular practice are:
- Practice with another team and play games with your assigned team. The Region can guide you to a practice that may fit your schedule.
- Drop to the waitlist and wait for a spot to open on another team with a different practice night. And while our goal is to place every child who registers, competitive balance is the first consideration when filling those openings, and your player is not guaranteed placement.
What if my child no longer wants to play?
Refund requests must be made by submitting a written request by email to: [email protected]. You will be given a full refund if requested before February 29, 2024, a 50% refund if requested between March 1, 2024 and March 15, 2024, and no refunds will be issued after the first scheduled game on March 16, 2024. Please allow 4-6 weeks to process the refund. The $20 membership fee is paid directly to the National AYSO organization and will not be refunded. Credit card processing fees are also not refunded.
