2018 SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE (SHSL)

RULES & REGULATIONS

 

PURPOSE: The purpose of the league is for player and referee development. No standings will be kept and no playoffs will be held.

EVERYONE PLAYS: Coaches will be responsible for assuring that each player plays at least one half of each game.

GENERAL RULES: The League will follow BIIF high school rules for substitutions, cautions and send offs. Two cautions or a send off during league play will result in a one game suspension. Games will consist of (2) 40 minutes halves. No overtime or “shootouts” will be played.

ELIGIBILITY: Players entering the 8th to 12th grade in August 2018. Players do not have to be students at the high school that the team is named after.

AYSO REGISTRATION: All players, coaches & referees must be registered with AYSO membership year 2015 with their respective home region. Hilo= Region 274, North HI = Region 403, Kona = Region 527. All rosters must be entered in the AYSO database.

PLAYER FEES: Each team will assess their player fee to cover costs of uniforms, transportation, and snacks.  The team managed fee should not exceed $50 per team.  Players not currently registered for the current region will need to register at hiloayso.org and pay an additional $17.50 to the regional registrar.

AYSO AREA 7A FEE:  Teams participating in the Summer High School League will also pay a $50 team fee to the AYSO AREA 7A.  Teams are to write a check made payable to AYSO Area 7A and mailed to: Jeri Canniff, PO Box 1404, Kapaau, Hawaii 96755.

UNIFORMS: Each team will be responsible for their own uniforms. Uniforms must have the AYSO logo on the left front pocket area. Uniform colors should resemble school colors. If there is a conflict the home team will wear different colored vests.

ROSTER SIZE: Unlimited but only 22 players may suit up for any given game. Rosters need to be sent by Home Regional Commissioner verifying all players and coaches are currently registered with AYSO. This assures that soccer accident insurance for players and liability insurance for coaches is provided by AYSO.

TEAM BALANCING: If more than one team is entered per school then both teams must be balanced with players of all age groups and players will NOT be able to switch teams.

SHARED PLAYER RULE: If a team has less than eleven players to start a game and the other team more than eleven, the team with extra players will be required to “SHARE” to make it even numbers on the field of play. Shared players may be changed at halftime. Coaches should carry extra jerseys or shirts that match their uniform color to accommodate shared players. Games may be reduced to 7v7 should either team not be able to field a team of 11.

COACHES: Will conduct themselves in a manner becoming of an AYSO coach at all times; not be paid; Secure home field confirmation and notify League Director (LD); Notify LD of their intent to participate and submit team fee. Rosters need to be submitted by Regional Commissioners.

REFEREES: Regional Referee Administrator of the home team region will be required to provide the referee team for the first games of the day. Each team will be required to fulfill their referee assignments as scheduled. Referees will not be paid.

PROTEST: Will not be allowed.
