Spring soccer is for children of all ages – especially the little ones! Several years ago, we chose Jamboree for our Spring season. In Jamboree, children get to play soccer in an age-specific program with small sided games built in each session. The older play a tournament season.
In Jamboree, the children learn soccer skills like kicking, dribbling, and throwing in the ball, but in a low-pressure setting. Jamboree is about exposing children to soccer, not grooming them for college scholarships. Coaches are assigned to present training sessions with a master coach that coordinates the activities. Spring session bring more skills development in group settings. It’s a different kind of game in U-5, U-8, and U-8 but the children still wear jerseys or pinnies, cleats and shin guards. This will commence on the first week of February and then extend over six weeks. A scheduled break occurs at the half so that our region will participate in the Area tournament for U8. Your calendar will show those dates.
