Jamul Region 511: World Class Soccer, Small Town Style

If during the registration process I get a wait-list notice for one or more of my players, what does this mean?

We build teams as players and coaches are available to field a team. If, at the time of registration, there are not enough coaches or players to field a team, your child will be wait-listed, but you will not be charged the fees. Teams will be created as registration continues and the number of players and coaches allow. We do this because, if you pay and we were ultimately unable to have a team for your child we would be unable to provide you a FULL refund.  At this time the AYSO membership fee ($20.00) charged by our National Office is non-refundable. Once we have the ability to place your child on a team, you will receive an email asking you to complete your registration and pay, which you will need to do as soon as possible.

Please Read to be Well Informed

When does Registration start for the fall 2024 season?

Registration will BE OPEN SOON.

Registration will open for waitlist only, just to make sure we can have the kids needed to make teams, coaches and needed Board Members too.  Please, put your child on the wait-list.  It is no cost and we will contact you with updates.

The wait-list will be age specific.  U6 is always Co-ed.  NOTE: ALL AGES WILL BE SUBJECT TO BEING CO-ED, IF WE CAN HAVE BOYS AND GIRLS TEAMS SEPERATE WE WILL.  The system will take all boys and girls who will be 4 by August 1st and who will still be 13 on December 31st.
AKA: U6 to U14.
If your child turns 14 before December 31st of this year, unfortunately we have not been able to field a U16 team in Jamul for a few years, but if you are interested please email the RC at [email protected].

We may not have teams for all of these Divisions (ages and boys/girls), but at least the waitlist allows us to know who is interested when the time comes.

Normally:
It would be best if you register on or before July 1st, 2024 so we can form teams.  However, we take registrations after that date and up until games start.

What do I need to have handy for the registration process?

A saved copy/scan/photo (the system does not take PDF or MS Word, needs to be .jpeg, .gif, ect.) of the TOP HALF of your child's birth certificate.  If you did this in a previous year, you should not be asked to provide the Birth Cert again.  ***If you downloaded a Birth Certificate previously, but it asks for it again this year, it is more than likely that the person checking them could not read the document and it was deleted.  Very sorry for any inconvenience.

Tip: If you take a picture of just the top 1/2 with your smart phone or tablet, you can either register on your smart phone or tablet, OR email the picture as an attachment, so that it can be saved to your computer.

ONCE the certificate is up loaded we will go into the system and "verify" it.  Once we do, the document you uploaded will be DELETED by the system, so that sensitive documents are not in the system any longer than needed.

This should be a ONE TIME thing, as long as we can see the document clearly.

What is the Registration fee for the 2024 season?

Regular season fee is: To Be Determined: It was $110 for fall 2023 ($90 for the region fee and $20 for Player Fee), it will be $115 due the National Player Fee increase (from $20 to $25), but the Region Fee for Fall 2024 could go up as well.  If it does it will not be much.   Plus Sports Connect (they purchased Blue Sombrero) will be charging a small fee per transaction.

$10.00 Discount for siblings.

What if I need to pay with Cash or Check?

You are welcome to do so.  Please contact our Regional Commissioner to set up a time to do this.

[email protected].

AN IDEA: If you do not have the ability to pay with a Credit/Debit Card, you can take cash to any major store and purchase a Visa/MC Gift Card.  You just need to make sure it can be used on-line, which most of them do.  There are steps to take that make it able to be used on-line and then you can complete your registration and pay on-line.

Any illness (Covid-19/Flu) protocols I should be aware of?

Yes. If your child is sick keep them home and let your coach know.  We don't need to know any details.

How do I know what age group my child will play in?

The age determination date is based on Birth Year.

Here is a basic description:  Your child has to be under the age of the division on December 31st, 2024.

How can I get involved in Jamul AYSO?

AYSO is an all volunteer run organization (with the exception of our National Office Support Team) and helping out in big or small ways can always make a huge difference.

Volunteering is a great way to....
-set an example as a role model to your children, family and friends.
-use your time and talents to be a legacy builder.
-join a group of volunteers that want the best for our children.

Please visit our "Volunteer Opportunities" page to get more details on what you can do to help.

Where does practice take place?

In Jamul practice takes place on one of two fields, depending on age group:

  • Jamul Intermediate School - U6, U8 and U10
  • Oak Grove Middle School - U12 and U14

When are practices?

Practices usually start the 1st week of August and generally are 2 days per week.  This does sometimes depend on the coaches and their schedules. We have had some coaches who can only hold one practice per week.  Also, some coaches do go down to one practice per week during the season (This is usually for the U6 and U8 Divisions).  Times do vary depending on when a coach is available.

Where are games located?

Games are usually located in Jamul where the practices are also held.  However, there are situations where if we do not have enough teams to keep all the games local (we call it playing in-house), they can also be held in neighboring regions, such as El Cajon, Alpine or another one. Not all games would be played away, just some of them.

This can also happen if there is an odd number of teams and it has happened in the past that there was only one team for an age division, who then had to sometimes play away games.

When are the games?

Games start the 1st Saturday after Labor Day.  U6 and U8 have 10 games and U10, U12 and U14 have 10 or 11 games.  Last Game weekend is the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  U10, U12 and U14 can also have games in December if they advance to the Area Tournament of Champions(TOC) and if they won 1st place, they would then also play in February at the Section Tournament of Champions.  If a player in one of the U10, U12 and U14 Divisions is selected for an All Star Team (if we had one), then games would also continue (January for All Star Games and then in February for teams that advance to the Section All Star Games).

How  will I communicate with my coach, my team and region staff?

Jamul AYSO "Team App" will be used.  This is a team management platform that can be customized by our region and will enable not only the coaches to easily communicate with their teams if they wish, but allow the region staff to easily communicate with you when needed and allow our staff to communicate with volunteers easily as well.  The Team App can be easily used on your computer, tablet or smart phone.

NOTE******YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO ADD YOURSELF TO THE TEAM APP.  YOU WILL BE ADDED BY JAMUL AYSO.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DOWN LOAD THE app ON YOUR PHONE YOU JUST NEED TO USE THE EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU SIGNED YOUR PLAYER UP WITH.  The app is actually called "Team APP" or "Stack Team APP" when you look for it on the Google Play or Apple.

IF YOU DON'T DOWNLOAD THE app, YOU WILL STILL GET EMAILS VIA THE APP.

If you have any questions regarding this please let us know.
