About Us

Welcome to Davis AYSO, Region 218, located in Davis, California. Founded in 1979, we are a recreational league run by volunteers, a region of the American Youth Soccer Organization (www.ayso.org), supporting over 2,000 players in our Fall Season, over 600 in our Spring Season, and an EPIC program. Davis AYSO is a region of the AYSO national organization and has been enriching children's lives in Davis through its soccer programs since 1979. Each region of AYSO is assigned a unique region number—the Davis region is Region 218.

Our region is part of Area D within Section 2.
Area 2/D consists of the Davis, Antelope, Winters, Esparto/Capay Valley, and Arbuckle regions. See www.aysoarea2d.org.
Section 2 consists of Areas in Northern California, most of Nevada, and the states of Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. See www.section2.org.
To summarize the above designations, we are: Section 2, Area D, Region 218, or in brief 2/D/218.

Each of the above entities has a board, thus there is the Region 218 board, an Area 2D board, and a Section 2 board.

The Region 218 Board meets usually on the second Monday of each month at 7:00pm at the AYSO Building. There is a public comment period at the beginning of every meeting; contact the Board secretary at [email protected] if you'd like to present a topic.

For over 20 years Davis AYSO operated from scattered storage areas, administrators homes, and begged and borrowed meeting spaces. It became more and more difficult to provide the quality program that our children deserve. In 2001/2002 Davis AYSO constructed a centralized facility in Community Park to provide our program with a coach and referee training room, a centralized office, record keeping space, and sorely needed centralized equipment storage.

The Davis AYSO Building is located in Community Park between the Veteran's Memorial Theater and the Community Pool. Park in the Davis High School parking lot (on Fourteenth Avenue between Oak and F Street), and as you walk into Community Park by the tennis courts look to your right. The building replaces the old shipping container where we stored nets and goals for many years.

In 2010, the building was named in honor of Andy Alexander, a Davis AYSO volunteer who passed away in 2009. We thank Andy for his contributions to our program.
