AYSO United and PSC Positive Partnership for our Players

AYSO United Arizona DOC, Ed Alameda shared some of his thoughts about how PSC has benefitted his club and players.

Every coach dreams of seeing a player they trained move into a higher level of play. What makes the success of these two young men even more special to me is the personal relationship I have built with them and their families.

When I joined AYSO United as the Director of Coaching for Arizona, it was my goal to help all AYSO United players find a pathway from Core to College and beyond. I knew if we could provide a clear vision for young players, and their parents, to see how joining with AYSO United can help them achieve their soccer and personal dreams, we would establish ourselves as the “go to club” in Arizona.

When I learned of the AYSO United Development Phase Program, headed by Conor Ward, I knew this was the final piece we were looking for.

The inclusion of AYSO United players into the PSC combines has afforded many of our talented young men and women the opportunity to showcase their skills in a professional environment. None of this would be possible without the leadership of our National Director, Dave Thomas and our National Director of Coaching, Paul Bright. Both of whom I consider friends and colleagues.

We are excited about the opportunity to continue to host these combines in Arizona and look forward to seeing more success stories like Jonathon and Zishim.

A Word from PSC….

Tom Taylor, PSC Director and AYSO United 2005 NPL coach, believes that the players can only benefit from taking advantage of the events at this crucial stage in their careers.

“It’s been a great summer for us to see lots of the AYSO United development phase players across many different regions around the country. I’m also delighted that the quality of our young players was extremely high and to see two of the players move on to full-time opportunities was fantastic. Zisham and Jonathon performed extremely well and I’m sure they can move on to have excellent careers in the game. I’m already excited to see more of the United players this winter desmonstrate their development over the past few months, as they have taken feedback from both college and professional coaches.

I look forward to seeing how they continue to grow as they have more interaction with a broad range of coaches,” shares Taylor.

For me (Conor), in my position as Development Phase Director, I am extremely excited to stay in contact with Jonathon and Zisham as they look to make a career in the game. I am sure they will not be the last players to take advantage of the newly launched Development Phase program.

Our focus is to support all our players looking to get into the college & professional world of soccer. We believe we have a great structure within the club across the country and it is only a matter of time before special things happen for our players.

It is my hope that we can get more of our players into showcases with collegiate and professional coaches. We have events coming up in the winter, so if you’re interested, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Finally to close, we hear from our National Technical Director, Paul Bright:

“AYSO United is committed to creating a positive, player-led environment that allows our players to truly fulfill their potential and continue their journey in the game; whether that be into college programs, professional club programs or continuing to play for the love and enjoyment of the game.

Through our relationship with PSC and the years of development and attention from AYSO United Arizona coaches and DOC, Ed Alameda, it is fantastic to see both Zishim and Jonathon continue their soccer careers with professional organizations and everybody at United wishes them the best of luck.

Through our core values, identity framework, and standards and expectations, we hope to see many more players follow Zishim and Jonathon into their chosen college or professional programs and we will always be there to support our current and alumni United players.”
