Round Lake wins Inaugural AYSO 428 14U Invitational

On June 25th, hosted at Round Lake High School, Round Lake 14U coached by Melessa Horbus, swept the competition winning the double elimination tournament in extra time over Wauconda (2-1 ET) in the championship game!

Amazing competition on the day as Grayslake, Northern United Football Club (LA Galaxy), Zion, and Wauconda competed for the championship in a double elimination tournament of 50 minute games with extra time and shoot outs if needed.

Wauconda placed second, completing the day with a record of 2-2 having made the championship game via the win back bracket with wins over NUFC (2-0) and Zion (2-1) after having lost to Zion in their opener (0-2(.

Zion placed third, with a record of 2-2 having mad the 3rd place game with wins over NUFC (1-1, 4-2) in shootout, Wauconda (2-0), and losses to Round Lake (0-2) and Wauconda (0-2).

NUFC LA Galaxy completed the day with a record of 1-2, having won over Grayslake (2-1) in the opening game of the win back bracket.
