Welcome to AYSO and Region 144. This page is for parents, grandparents, guardians, players and anyone else who is interested in learning more about AYSO and Region 144 (South Irvine).

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is the largest youth sports program in the City of Irvine. Over 4,000 boys and girls participate in various programs throughout the year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). We play soccer in a fun, competitive and safe environment that every player and parent is looking for. Regardless of a child's long term sports interest, soccer is a great starting place for children to develop individual and team skills.

In 2012, AYSO was voted as the Best Sports Program in Orange County by the readers of Parenting OC Magazine, Over 63,000 OC residents voted in the survey, using a write-in ballot to nominate their favorites in a variety of catagories. We are prooud and honored that AYSO won the Best Sports Program Catagory.

AYSO's structure is layered to ensure a high quality and consistent program (allowing for variations to suit certain local requirements) because AYSO is the largest soccer club in the world.

• The Regions deliver the program in the local community -- we are Region 0144 and service south Irvine (more about this in a minute).
• Neighboring Regions are combined to form Areas. Each Area is setup to provide inter-Regional programs as well as guidance and assistance to the Region. Region 0144 is part of Area Q. And, Area Q also includes Regions: 57 (Corona del Mar), 96 (Tustin), 97 (Newport Beach), 120 (Costa Mesa), 213 (North Irvine), and 1398 (Yorba Linda/Placentia).
• Neighboring Areas are combined to form Sections. Each Section is setup to provide inter-Area programs as well as guidance and assistance to the Areas. Region 0144 and Area Q are part of Section 11. Section 11 spans on the coastal side of the Saddleback Mountains from south Los Angeles county, through Orange County, and down to San Diego county.

Thus, you will see us referred to as 11/Q/0144 which stands for "Section 11," "Area Q," and "Region 0144."

AYSO has granted two charters which divides the city of Irvine into two different Regions at Irvine Center Drive. In a perfect world... Everyone living south of Irvine Center Drive would register their children in Region 0144 (South Irvine). And, everyone living in the city of Irvine north of Irvine Center Drive would register in Region 213 (North Irvine). Yet, one of AYSO's more important tenets is "Open Registration." You are welcome to register and participate in any Region you want!.

The soccer season runs from August 1 to July 31 of the following year - we call this a Membership Year.

AYSO Region 0144 offers programs for kids from about 4-years old to 19-years old. And, in fact, we are affiliated with an Adult League too. Determining which division your child will be assigned changed for the 2017-2018 Membership Year. Now, the division is determined by the year your child was born in.
