Los Feliz AYSO Fall Season

The Fall season begins in August as we assess players' skill levels, choose teams and begin practicing.  The first games for 4U-10U will be September 9, 2017 and the last regular season game will be November 11, 2017.  For 10U and older teams, we will have playoffs within our region and the winner of each division will advance to the Area 1P playoffs.   Approximately 1,000 players ranging from 3 to 18 years of age play in 10 matches each Fall.  The majority of our players live in Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Atwater Village, Echo Park, and Eagle Rock, but players from nearby cities are welcome as registration is open to all players.

  • All players are part of balanced teams and we may ask players to attend an assessment to determine their skill level.
  • All players play at least half of each game attended.

NOTE: The fall season is Open Registration and we will try to place every applicant on a team, unfortunately in some situations we will not be able to place players due to a lack of volunteers. Team formation requires coaches, referees and team parents.  Players will be turned away if we do not have sufficient volunteers. Consider volunteering in one of these key roles, training is available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What division will my child play in?

As of the 2017 season, players will be placed in divisions by birth year.  This is a one-time change that AYSO has made on a national basis (age divisions used to be based on the players age as of August 1). In some younger divisions these divisions are single year groups, in older divisions, two birth years are combined.  [Please note: 8U refers to "age 8 and under".  8UB refers to boys and 8UG refers to girls.]

In 2017, AYSO will be changing from a school year registration to a birth year registration in order to align with other American youth soccer program providers interpretation of the U.S. Soccer Player Development Initiatives.  This is a one-time change that AYSO has made on a national basis.  See the chart below for the age division.

The term U means "under" (example, 10U indicate 10 and Under and comprises of players who are 10 and 9 years old). The effective date of age determination for registration shall be the player's age as of December 31 looking ahead of the Membership Year.  Example: For MY2017 the division the child will be placed in will be determined based on their age on December 31, 2018.

What if my child can't attend their team's practice time?

Only the coach determines the team's practice time. If you can't coach, options for parents whose children are unable to attend their team's regular practice are:

  1. Practice with another team and play games with your assigned team. The Region can guide you to a practice that may fit your schedule.
  2. Drop to the waitlist and wait for a spot to open on another team with a different practice night.  And while our goal is to place every child who registers, competitive balance is the first consideration when filling those openings, and your player is not guaranteed placement.

What if my child no longer wants to play?

Refund requests must be made by submitting a written request by email to: chris@centerpnt.com .  You will be given a full refund if requested before August 1, a 50% refund if requested between August 1 and the first game on September 9, and no refunds will be issued after the first scheduled game on September 9.  Please allow 4-6 weeks to process the refund.  The $17.50 membership fee is paid directly to the National AYSO organization and will not be refunded.
