American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

AYSO Region 69: Brentwood/ Pacific Palisades/ Topanga

Overview of Programs

Our core program is the foundation for all the fun, excitement and learning that happens on the fields in the FALL.   This is where the large majority of our players start and  fall in love with soccer and make memories that will last a lifetime.   The above mentioned 6 philosophies are the essence of our core program, and all of our other programs,  and it all starts with Everyone Plays. This means that no player spends their soccer experience sitting on the bench, they play at least 3 quarters of every game. Registration is opened to any player in the core program regardless of ability, as long as there is space.  Teams are put together by gender and age, see AGE DIVISIONS,  and are balanced in a way that makes playing soccer about the experience, not wins or losses. It’s not about blowing out another team with an unbelievable score; it’s about sportsmanship and learning to be the best possible team mate and opponent. Developing players is what we’re about, because soccer skills and life skills go hand in hand. We want to get players on the field, provide them with  good positive coaches, and teach them to play soccer.

The VIP Program (Very Important Players) provides a quality soccer experience for children and adults whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams.  The program is held Saturday mornings in the FALL at the Calvary Christian School field, and sometimes in the SPRING.

PLAYGROUND is an 8 week coed program for our youngest players. A first-time soccer experience for parent and tot, lead by the one and only, Coach Steve. Our inaugural 2017 Playground Season begins the week of September 25 and ends November 17.

Children will attend a 45 minute session each week WITH their parent and will have the option to participate at either a Brentwood or Palisades location.

Our U5 division has been very successful. There will be a 45 minute practice one day during the week through the end of October, just as in U6.  On Saturday, there will be a one hour time slot for practice and a game experience.  Our trainers work with the players for the first 30 minutes, then a 5 minute snack break, followed by a 20-minute game, broken into quarters with a 5 minute break at halftime.  Players are expected to arrive 5 minutes prior to the time assigned (no earlier) so they are ready when the trainers begin.

This is a Coed Intramural Program for our older players.  These players may also participate on a league team.

When:   September 24 - Nov 19
Time:     4-6pm
Where:  Pali High FB field

Each player will be issued a reversible tank top to be used each year.  And Players will manage themselves with Adult oversight.

The AYSO Extra program is a competitive soccer league, starting in the Fall, designed to provide a higher level of play for those players who possess the appropriate skills, abilities, and drive.  Games will be played with other regions from Area P as well as from Areas C, D and F.  The Extra program is designed to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit, organization and six philosophies of AYSO: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams (balanced through competitive bracketing), Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development.

Tryouts for the Fall 2017 season have already taken place and teams have been selected. Fall 2018 tryouts will take place in May, 2018.

The All-Star Program provides an opportunity for skilled players to continue their AYSO soccer experience at an accelerated level by competing in tournaments against other All-Star teams from neighboring communities and states.  All CORE players who have played in 3/4 of their league games (no more than 2 absences for reasons other than injury, illness, or late assignment) are eligible to try out for THEIR division’s  EXTRA/All-Star/Tournament Teams.  The Tournament Season begins with practice in December or January, and extends to June, or perhaps optionally longer, depending on the team.

Region 69 Spring League is a 10-week Skills Development League completely run by our staff of professional trainers.  It involves one (or two) weekday training sessions and one Saturday game each week.  This skills program runs from March-May and focuses on developing the individual technical ability of each player with an emphasis on ball control, dribbling, passing, and shooting.
