Website Registration Tutorials

I’ve registered! Now what happens?

Whew! I’ve registered!    Now what happens?

What’s the Board doing?

After registration is closed your Region Board begins the process of putting the teams together for the upcoming season. When this is completed, coaches will then be assigned and the uniforms will be ordered.  No team information will be released until all teams have a volunteer parent-coach assigned.

When do the coaches get their teams?

Coaches should expect to receive their team rosters in August.

When do the players get called?

Teams may begin practice on or after August 1st. The coaches will call or E-Mail the players usually from early to mid August. They will give you all the information you will need in regards to practice times and location. Each coach sets his/her own practice days, time and location. The practice fields are located throughout Mira Mesa.

It’s after Aug. 1, and my child has not been called. What do I do?

Please do not panic if you see teams practicing and your child has not been called. Not all teams begin practice at the same time. The very young teams, in particular, do not always begin practice on August 1st. Also some coaches may be out of town. If your child has not been called by August 15th please contact us by E-Mail.

What else does my child need?

The registration fee includes: complete uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) supplemental accident insurance, team and individual pictures.

You will need to obtain cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball (size depends on age – U8 Size 3, U10 & U12 Size 4 and U14 and up Size 5) and a water bottle before the first practice.

How often are practices and games?

Practices are held once to twice a week depending on the child’s age.  Field and times will be determined by your child’s coach. Games will be on Saturdays with the first game for U10 and up is on Saturday, August 29th. Games and practices will be held at a field in Mira Mesa.  However please note U10 and above do travel as well.

Refund?
Players withdrawing prior to August 1st will be issued a full refund. After August 1st please refer to the region refund policy. All requests for a refund must be submitted in writing and accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope. Mail to P.O. Box 26507, San Diego, CA  92126

Please Remember…

AYSO is a parent-based volunteer organization established to provide a positive experience for our children. Go to the games. Learn the rules. Above all, be tolerant of the children’s coaches and referees mistakes and weaknesses.

Volunteer Needed:

What does it take to run a soccer team?  Every team needs a Coach, an Assistant Coach, a Team Parent, Referees, Field Set-up and Field Tear Down.  Each week, we need over 100 volunteers to make things run smoothly.  Volunteering is simple and rewarding – for coaches/referees – we will train you!
