Cherry Hill Tournament

The girls had an awesome weekend on and off the field. They brought their "A" game the entire weekend and showed that the skills they are working hard on at practice are sticking and starting to play out during their games. The entire team seemed to focus on communicating and passing whenever possible. Because of this they had staying power for the entire game.  Game one was against Cinnaminson and the girls powered through with a 4-1 win. It was clear during this game, that if they continued to play like they were, that it was going to be a great weekend. Between the first and second game the entire team enjoyed dinner together at Applebees. The only concern was, would they be too wegthed down by the baskets of mozzarrela sticks they ate.

During the first five minutes of game two, the girls didn't look like they were going to be able to perform like game one. However, once they got there hearts pumping and legs moving, they hit a stride yet again. They took loads of shots on the goal but the Hamilton goalies  denied a large majority of them. The final was a well deserved 2-0.   On day two the girls faced the Cherry Hill destroyers. There is a little history between the two teams and lets just say, both teams were looking forward to the battle. It wasn't long into the first half that it was clear, our girls were hitting their stride. They were succesfully, paying one touch balls, give and goes and fighting to maintian possesion with one v one's instead of just dumping the ball. By the end of the first half the girls were well on their way to a win with a 3-0 advantage.

During the second half we saw Cherry Hill win two goals one well deserved and one penalty kick for a questionable pushing foul. The girls went on the deny Cherry Hill any addtional goals and dominated the remainder of the game. In the end the Blue Storm "destroyed" the Destroyers with a crushing 6-2 win. Great weekend girls, and thanks for another fun season of soccer. It's been a joy to see you all play and develop over the last two years. I am very much looking forward to your next season.
